Christopher (“Chris”) Recker, Lennar Atlanta’s Vice President of Operations, manages all of the Division’s daily activities related to construction, architecture, purchasing and customer care. In addition, he is in charge of forward planning responsibilities and helps keep the Division’s sales, starts and closings paced in order to meet quarterly goals. Mr. Recker joined Lennar Atlanta in 2010 as Director of Construction.
After obtaining his BS in Business Management from Ohio Wesleyan University, Mr. Recker joined Centex Homes in Atlanta in 1993. His positions there ranged from Field Manager to Construction Manager to VP of Construction / Director of Construction Operations for Atlanta Metro and Central South Carolina from 2003 – 2009.
Mr. Recker, a four-year Varsity Football letterman and active board member of Alpha Tau Omega, counts teamwork and relationship building as the cornerstones of his success in the homebuilding industry. Some of his other professional skills include systems management, architectural design, cost management and even flow construction. For instance, at Lennar Atlanta, he has developed and designed all of the division’s plans ranging from 1,800 sq. ft. up to 5,000 sq. ft. homes, including townhomes and single-family detached residences.
A keen competitor who loves to coach football and wrestling in his limited spare time, Mr. Recker implements targeted policies and procedures to consistently outperform the competition, such as the use of the Slotting Schedule, Quality Program, Construction Manager Training and Value Engineering. To him, “Success is where preparation meets opportunity. There is opportunity all around us, the preparation is up to you.”
He, his wife and their two wonderful children live in Cumming. They enjoy camping together – unless Mr. Recker is fishing or working on his 1969 Camaro.
